The Seventh-day Adventist Church – Ghana has donated an amount of GHS 100,000 to the National COVID-19 Trust Fund.
President of the Southern Ghana Union Conference of the Church, Pastor Dr. Thomas Techie Ocran commended the government over efforts and measures it has put in place to stem and combat the spread of the Coronavirus in the country.
He stated that the Adventist church has planned series of donations it will embark on to support the fight against the virus, adding that the Church has already joined the spiritual battle against COVID-19 through its 100 days of prayer which is currently ongoing.
Receiving the donation on Monday, April 27, 2020 at the COVID-19 Trust Fund Office in the Jubilee House, Justice Sophia Akufo, the Chairperson of the Fund expressed profound gratitude to the Church for the kind gesture and called on Ghanaians to join the church in its 100 days of prayer.
The donation of the cheque saw the attendance other of dignitaries including Pastor Dr. Andrews Lawrence Ewoo, Dr. Williams Kpakpo, Dr. Solace Asafo and Mr. Nii Ayite Hammond.
